Model No. : |
WM 251 |
| |
|
Description : |
The WM 251 Wind Monitor has been designed to provide all the three wind characteristics required for pollutant dispersion and air-quality modeling. The system measures ambient temperature in degrees Centigrade, wind speed in kilometers/hour and wind direction in degrees from North. The Data-logger of the WM 251 system computes hourly averages of the three parameters and also standard deviations of the wind direction fluctuations on a Real-Time basis. The hourly data is stored in the logger memory and can be retrieved at appropriate intervals. |
| |
|
Features : |
Totally indigenous and designed to operate in harsh tropical environment. |
Provided with a digital display to show instantaneous values of temperature, wind speed
and direction. |
Calculates and records the hourly Standard Deviation of wind direction fluctuation – Sigma Theta. |
Selects vertical and horizontal wind stability/turbulence classifications based on Slade’s
Criterion and wind direction fluctuations or Sigma Theta. |
| |
|
Key Specification : |
| Wind Speed Sensor : |
3 Cup type anemometer, rotor speed sensed by non-contact photochoppers. |
| |
|
| Wind Speed Range : |
0.5km/hr to 100km/hr |
| |
|
| Wind Direction Sensor : |
Single vane type with a potentiometric sensor. |
| |
|
| Wind Direction Resolution: |
1 degree |
| |
|
| Temperature Sensor : |
Thermister Pt1000. Range : -5 oC to 50 oC Resolution: 0.1oC. |
| |
|
| Data-Logger Memory Size : |
Sufficient memory to store five weeks data of all parameters. All values recorded are hourly averages. No data back-up battery is required. |
| |
|
| Synchronization with Real Time : |
Built in battery backed-up Real Time Clock (RTC) to support chronological data recording. The system automatically starts recording fresh data upon wake-up from a power failure with all system timing synchronized with Real Time. |
| |
|
| Power Requirement : |
220V Single Phase AC mains supplied through a CVT |
| |
|
| Data Print Out : |
System supports a standard Centronix compatible Parallel Port and can dump recorded data directly through any 80/132 column printer. |
| |
|
| Computer Interface : |
Two way asynchronous information transfer through standard RS232 Serial Port. |
| |
|
| Software Package : |
Package runs on any IBM PC compatible machine and provides the logger interface, frequency distribution of stability and Stability Wind Roses Diagram. |
